Blanket Crush - our new baby home decor site

A little bit on baby home decor..... ; )

Some of you already know my younger sister has a baby home decor business - We make these really great baby blankets!  I have had some time off lately and have been helping out quite a bit with the biz.  We have an Etsy store now.  Yay! Progress.  The baby home decor business is called Blanket Crush - we make baby blankets, receiving blankets, baby duvet covers, pillowcases, and crib decor.

Beautiful & Incredible Jewelry and Art - and I mean super-freak outstanding!

I am not a girl who collects lots of any one certain thing - I more prefer quality over quantity.  I am not a cookie-cutter kind of person meaning,  I find beauty in the unusual and really prize craftsmanship and art - don't you too?

I have never been a big-fan of mass-produced jewelry or accessories.  (I would say clothes too, but Im chunky so finding amazing clothes in XL and up is kind of a challenge sometimes) - anyhow, below I consider these items pieces of art.  Take a look.....

1.  Grange Hall - Dallas, TX - Holi India Purple Jade and 18K Gold Necklace
Beautiful, eh?  Delicate jade stones in ombre-effect colors dangle from the larger purple jade piece.   Stunning!  (Incidentally, Grange Hall has some of the most unique art/jewelry.  Take a look)

2.  Grange Hall - Dallas TX - 18K Yellow Gold Fuck You ring
Okay, not a ring for everyone, but a beautiful piece of art in 18K gold and accented with diamonds none-the-less.  Im sure some of us would find that just-right occasion to wear this right? Maybe?  I kinda really love it!   ; )

Chanel Counter @Nordstrom - Bellevue Square - Updated 01/18/14

Just popped into Nordstrom Bellevue Square (Bellevue, WA) and looks like the store is re-vamping the Chanel cosmetics counter!  I can't wait to see what it looks like......the reveal should take place in about another week.....yay!

Okay - here is the updated space - the install is a whole row for Chanel - much larger footprint in the store - looking good.  The Chanel reps mentioned that the store would not be doing a launch for the new space, but ya never know.  Here is what is looks like now:

I love the overall Asian type of look and the colors - the pink and this red are great.!

The craftsmanship on the jacket and skirt textiles are so amazing!

The pattern here really caught my eye - the blush underneath is a nice touch.

This dress is so beautiful - light and airy and beautifully woven.

The fabric is so great.

The bead-work - when you zoom into this photo you can see all the work - wow!  They are long bugle-beads!

About this collection - if you are a fan of these looks you must go to Style.com, click on the Fashion Show link on the top-left of the page, select Spring 2014 RTW then select Tom Ford.  Once you bring up the collection find these "mirrored" textiled looks and then click "move-it" - the collection was debuted in low-light and these outfits simply dance - its spectacular!

Spring 2014 - Hooray for Color!

Hooray!!  Yes, since December 2013 the lines have been releasing their Spring 2014 collections - and they are so amazing!  I have checked out a few:

Chanel Spring 2014:

The entire Spring 2014 Chanel collection at Nordstrom - Bellevue, WA

A close-up of all the goodies!

The #44 & #138 are so pretty in person - but my fav is #44!

All 5 lipsticks, the lip liners, & the gloss (isn't the 3rd pink great?)

 Overall:
*  The lipsticks were super creamy and are nicely pigmented
*  The lip pencils are a really close match in color to most of the lipsticks and went on pretty smooth
*  The blush - wow, its nice.  The blush starts out as a creme and dries powdery-soft - perfect for all skin types.  The nice bright coral color would look so great on either fair or dark complexions

There are a lot of blue-undertones in this collections which would be suitable to most complexions with blue undertones or complexions that lean toward blue-undertones.



Guerlain Blossom Spring 2014:

The bubble blush in 02 Cherry (it smells like Violets!)

Ok - im a "huge" fan of Guerlain and have been using this line for about 7 years now.  Here is the overall review of this new Spring collections:

*  The Meteorites Perles - this year the little perles have been enhanced with more illuminating factors - basically, more sparkles.  The new Meteorites are light, airy, and still have the lovely violet scent.  Exceptionally pretty however once applies.

*  The Bubble Blush - Ok - yes, the color is "divine", but the violet scent makes it!  The blush slides on smoothly and silk-like (the picture above is the 02 Cherry color).  The formula may not be most suitable for oily or combination skin as it is already a creme type of base, but I'll know more when Nordstrom gets more stock in and I play with it.  The violet scent is really pretty.  Im usually sensitive to fragrance but I have good luck with this line.  No issues here.
